Charlotte does her damnedest to stay a decent individual, in the face of all the hardships and troubles she has faced. While quiet and contemplative for the most part she is equally stern and no-nonsense, and she will not hesitate to snap back if challenged... situationally, at least. Certainly if she's in a position of authority, or if she feels herself sufficiently "above" someone else in any way, whether that be in status, intelligence, or anything else under the sun. This part of her personality can itself be traced back to her profession prior to her death - a profession that required her to be kind and responsive (and usually quiet and reserved) but also needed her to be equal parts strict and assertive should something call for it, like rounding up unruly guests. That said, she can be quite cowardly, too; if something truly unnerves or threatens her, she's far more likely to flee than to fight, though there are definite exceptions. She dislikes conflicts where the outcome is unclear from the get-go, and has a special disdain for loud quarrels of any kind (and, in general, loudness). While she tries her best, her patience and levelheadedness is not infinite; she suffers from occasional bouts of mania that are both mainly caused by and exacerbated by her state as a lingering spirit, and tend to flare up in stressful situations. She tries her best to suppress these, but isn't always successful. During these times, in contrast to her usual welcoming and helpful personality, she can become rather petty, mean, and snappy (though always in a mischievous, playful, just-irritating-enough sort of way), and almost vengeful towards anyone who gets in her way as she tries to join the rest of the fire spirits in their desire to burn away... though she does her best to keep herself away from that, as she doesn't enjoy the thought of such a finality and she's really started quite enjoying the fact that she's stuck around.
