ABOUT
Once a family man (or family fisher, whichever you prefer), and now a permanent resident of Tarroque. Surprisingly normal, at least when taking into account some of the place's other residents and in fact his close associates. Known across the afterlife for his tendency to kowtow to others for attention, and for doing one of the greatest 180s from life-to-death in terms of personality, going from emotionally conflicted-yet-stoic crime scene fixer to sad lapdog. Xander's closest "friend", or emotional punching bag, either one works - not that Wesker cares, as long as someone keeps him around. Unofficial-professional mediator between Viperstream and Xander, and the de-facto Viperstream handler.

PERSONALITY
Wesker is an unusually personable and laid-back soul, which means he sticks out like a sore thumb in contrast to the company he keeps. He’s more likely to speak up for others than he is to speak up for himself; he takes pride in helping others with their issues, but often represses his own, passively refusing to bring them up. If no one asks, there’s no reason to talk about it, and thus no reason to confront it or process it.
Wesker is proud, in some sense, but not boastful; he enjoys helping people, and finds it a satisfying use of his time that brings him great joy. At the same time Wesker takes pride in helping people, he remains staunchly humble about his comparative compassion, and is often flustered or simply confused by compliments. His pride is also often easily wounded, and in these cases he'll often back off and refrain from participating in the offending conversation though he won't physically leave for the simple reason that being alone leaves him too much time to think.
As such, he also has a heavy tendency to be a doormat, especially in terms of his social relationships. Being treated well often takes a backseat to being liked and "accepted" into a group to Wesker, thanks to the transient nature of a lot of his previous relationships; he’s more than willing to brave insults and emotional attacks and sacrifice his own dignity in order to fit in. His most common reaction is the aformentioned "go quiet" tactic; however, on some occasions, he'll offer resistance, but with great difficulty and little success; his inability to stand up for himself combined with his innate desire to "be friends" with people, basically, dooms him. It’s not exactly that he thinks that’s "just what friends do", though that is his go to excuse - he knows better, deep down, but he just has such an intense desire to be liked or included that he’ll take whatever abuse people can hurl his way just to feel wanted.
To some, his resolute optimism in the face of being others’ emotional punching bag leads them to a false conclusion that he is particularly stupid, which isn’t necessarily the case. Sure, he isn’t particularly the most academically well-read individual, but he has an emotional intelligence that far exceeds some of Tarroque’s more eccentric residents, and a willingness to be openly helpful with the feelings of others (though, he often keeps his own under wraps, again in the interest of people-pleasing) that a decent chunk of other Tarroque residents don't have. He's also particularly attentive and watchful, noticing things that might otherwise go under the radar - this is one of the reasons he was brought on as a fixer in the first place, after all.
Prior to his death he was almost entirely different, strangely enough; he used to be... well, not well-adjusted, but far less of a punching bag; a little aloof and sometimes fairly ornery and headstrong, though not entirely unfriendly, given his daylighting as a family man. He was, of course, still a bit of an acquired taste. His unusual circumstances, ending up in a chaotic afterlife instead of merely ending up in the eternal darkness he thought he would, are what led him to try and change his personality around, instead ending up overcompensating for trying to hide his past life by becoming, well, everybody else's doormat. The things he did in the past, and his hatred for having resorted to doing them, have led him to try and leave that life behind... by force.
As a result of Viperstream's influence, parts of his old personality have begun seeping through the cracks of his facade; he has started being more assertive again, though definitely not in as bitchy of a fashion as his partner, and is less prone to hanging around those people who don't have his best interests in mind (namely Xander). It's not quite enough to change anyone's extant opinion of him, mind you, but the sheer act of beginning to meld the better aspects of the selves he's made for himself is a step in the right direction, and with time who knows what might happen.

SHORT BACKSTORY
FULL BACKSTORY
Wesker's upbringing wasn't anything particularly special. He came from no family of noble birth, nor was he the subject of some prophecy, or grand destiny, or Shakespearean tragedy like some other inhabitants of Tarroque- in fact, he was rather ordinary, to the point of being plain; though one can surmise that in Tarroque it matters not who you were in the last world. Wesker's origin-world was a grim one, but not devoid of hope. He was born into a lower-class family in the great city of [REDACTED], a near-dystopia of a walled city in the province of [REDACTED] that by day looked rather plain but at night went up in technicolour flame, neon lights casting down upon the inhabitants below. While fraught with the typical strife one might expect of a poorer family, especially one as large and extended as Wesker's, it was not necessarily unhappy, though he did find himself mixed up in criminal activities more and more frequently; that true unhappiness only came later in life, as the young children of the family who had previously been so close-knit started to drift apart and go their separate ways in search of better fortunes.
Wesker, for his part, was a rough-and-tumble individual, both hardened and softened by his upbringing; he was a capable enough man, the strong and silent type, though his capacity for love and family-oriented self would perhaps turn out to be his greatest weakness in the life he soon found himself mixed up in. He was employed as a crime fixer (or 'cleaner') for one of the organized crime gangs within the city, tasked with cleaning up some of the grisliest scenes; the ones that others would often pass on, believing they were too much even for them.
At some point along the way, Wesker met and fell in love with a woman-weasel named [REDACTED]; while the two didn't exactly hit it off at first, given Wesker's aloof personality and general stoicism, he was not able to suppress his kindness forever, and on subsequent meetings the two soon arranged a regular schedule on which to meet together. Wesker was generally silent about the line of work he was in, and while [REDACTED] was certainly appreciative of the money he seemed flagrantly willing to spend on her on their dates together she was insatiably curious and, predictably, eventually tricked him to admitting the truth. While angry, she was more worried than anything, and consistently tried to stop Wesker or persuade him to find a way out, although he saw none and admitted to her he was certainly sure he was in far too deep to ever find a way out.
After much deliberation he decided to give one of [REDACTED]'s plans a try, as following the birth of their three children he was keen to start acting the part of father and to be present in their lives as his parents were for him in the worst parts of his young life. What Wesker had previously thought, however, was indeed and unfortunately true; not long after he and [REDACTED] had a private wedding ceremony did his attempt to escape the city with her end in tragedy. The small family had only just made it to a lake outside the city when two fossa members of the leader's personal militia caught up with him, having caught wind of his escape, and their very presence indicated the severity of this slight; seeing no other choice and desperate to keep the most important part of him - his family - alive, he forced [REDACTED] and his children to flee, leaving them with a last promise that he'd "see them again one day". Buying them time to run, Wesker took on the two gang members who'd been sent after him and fought until his very last breath; after dealing a near-fatal blow to the fisher across his neck, the two fossas decided to add insult to literal injury by deciding to finish him off via drowning him instead, and it was in that lake that Wesker perished, the eventual fate of his family unbeknownst to him.
CurrentWesker's promise would never come to fruition. He soon awoke to the droning sound of an engine, all the pain replaced with nothing but the remnants of a headache, and opening his eyes he found himself laying on the bed in the private, luxury sleeper cabin of a rustic, posh-looking train. He decided to take a look around, and familiarized himself with some of the train's workings and incoming residents, before eventually making his way to the station at Halfmoon Heights where, like the others on the trip with him, he was suddenly thrust into a world entirely unfamiliar to him and which would be his home for the foreseeable forever. He adapted remarkably well to the change of surroundings, his sense of wonder breaking through his learned stoicism, and his personality quickly shifted to adjust to his "fresh start", as it were, as he was adopted into the fold of Xander's large circle of friends.
